A frying pan is used almost every day, and few things in the kitchen wear out as visibly. Every type has its weak point.
Thin coatings scratch, go dull and lose their release. Once food starts to stick, more oil goes in and the pan gets harder to clean every time.
Robust, but unforgiving. Eggs, fish and pancakes stick without enough fat and the right temperature, and cast iron has to be seasoned and dried with care.
A thin base heats unevenly: burnt in the middle, pale at the edge. Many warp over time, and plenty of them do not work on induction at all.
PEEK is a high-performance plastic that engineers use where parts have to withstand heat and wear. According to the manufacturer, the ChronaFlex coating is made with PEEK and contains no PFOA, cadmium or lead.
